PurTest Lead Test Kit is a rapid immunoassay test for lead in drinking water. The test can detect lead at very low levels, even below the EPA action level of 15 parts per billion (ppb). It's instant, do-it-yourself EPA-based method allows you to screen your water for dangerous levels of lead in 10 minutes. This test will detect lead down to the EPA-safe standard of 15 ppb (parts per billion).

Risks of lead contaminated water: Treating for lead contamination is critical since lead poisoning can present serious health risks such as gastrointestinal disorders, paralysis, brain and spinal cord damage especially in children. For pregnant women, lead contamination may result in miscarriage. 
Initial testing should be done every 6 months, then every two years. It is critical to check the primary faucet used for drinking and cooking water, usually the kitchen tap. It's best to check every faucet.
